Does the Size of a Laptop Really Matter?

The question in computer portability has become, “Does computer portability really matter or is it more important to have a computing machine that allows you to fit all your software and save as many songs as will fit on your productivity machine?” Another point here may be whether the smaller sizes are more worthwhile or if the light-weight portability is the key issue. I think the availability of different types of portable computers these days lets us really personalize our productivity machines into something that works for all of us and doesn’t always have to be run of the mill for all.

The production release of the brand new macbookair by Apple has really given us a selection with the size and weight and what kind of laptop computer we lug around with us daily. At less than 3 pounds and thinner than a picture frame, we don’t have to get a workout every time we walk to school. It has a 13 inch wide-screen and a normal keyboard. Why wouldn’t I be interested? This is the very quality I have been looking for.

When I first observed the pitch for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to carry portable computer coming out of that little brown envelope, I was simply shocked. Now, that’s the solution I’ve been seeking for so long. Now it doesn’t have to be a major undertaking to take my laptop with me anymore! No extra bag that can weigh nearly as much as the laptop, no more sweating, no longer taking up so much extra room! What a joy!

The age old question of whether size really matters is in front of us now and my answer, when it comes to a tiny laptop is a resounding, “yes, Yes, YES!” Size does matter and so does weight. For me and my computer smaller is as good as it gets.
